The clubhouse at this compound is truly something. It’s a mammoth sized building that starts on the top of a hill and descends several floors belowground. Some residents have cars (the nearby Yan’an Elevated Road is particularly convenient), but central Shanghai is easily navigable by public transport as well. The nearest metro station to the compound is Jiaotong University station (Lines 10/11), which is about ~10-15 minutes away by foot. Xintiandi, for example, can be reached in ~25 minutes by car, bike, or metro. Jing’an can be reached in ~15 minutes by bike or car. Pudong Airport is about 1 hour away by car, and Hongqiao airport is about 40 minutes away by car.
